Inventions late have brought to hand; a process which the times require; A process which in coming years the very Gods must much admire; A process which the world may use without a Patent on the lid Nor cannon balls to hold it down; nor anything to keep it hid. The secret of this World-prized charm is bottling microbes of the earth And placing them beneath the ban; denying them a future birth As warriors great: as murderers foul; of all that they have proved to be The deadliest "serum" to mankind; in air; on earth; below the sea. Before this "canning process" found, this microbe had its "larvae" spread Throughout the world in "subtle" way; the "germ" was found within the head Of those whose blood in parlance strange acknowledged ONE a GERMAN hand As Heir Divine, and he and his were lords by right, through Fatherland. His mouth-piece was the canons voice; it sounded round an anxious world; The trembling earth in terror looked and found "constructors" tightly curled Where once were circles quite unbroke; on each the charm of love had shown; On each the morning dews of life showed deepest pearls; the Love of Home. Invasion with its cold stern hand strode in and with its poison-breath More deadly than the blow-snakes fume summoned defenseless bands of death, Pollution in its deepest sense were factors all; we may not name. The vile; the low; the demon's torch, from which old satan might refrain. This great disturber of the world, is getting now the "echos" back; The very hills are fortified; his only course is back; way back, And while receding in post-haste, the boomerang is on his trail; The "wind has changed" the Mustard gas has found him and it could not fail. Provision now is well in hand for canning up this "microbe" chief And every unit to the "swarm" whereby the world will find relief From worst of plagues since time began, wits YANKEES and with BONDS at hand The canning process is complete, for "microbes" Bill and Fatherland.
